| Every year the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival brings the town to life with a spectacular parade of illuminated floats, live bands, street entertainment and the deafening practice of "squibbing" - the simultaneous firing of lots of large fireworks (squibs) on Bridgwater High Street

| The Family Home at Christmas |
Once again Castle Howard near York will be
opening for Christmas, when the Howard family
will welcome visitors to experience the magic of
their festive season.
The house will be adorned with the family’s own
decorations & traditional fresh foliage displays.
Friendly guides will be located throughout the
house to share tales of Christmas past & present,
as visitors move between decorated rooms lit by
flickering candles & cosy fires.
The Christmas Craft & Produce market will also be
open today in the Stable Courtyard.

In 2010 Chatsworth will offer a Russian Christmas
on the two lower floors of the house, celebrating
the traditions & sights of a cold & sparkly
northern winter, and the fabulous glamour &

Alongside these unique displays will be superb
seasonal shopping & food, Christmas markets &
much much more. Please note that the second
floor rooms are closed each winter for annual
conservation & housekeeping.
